Glycerol

Glycerol is a trivalent alcohol and serves as an energy provider. It is used mainly in the feeding of dairy cattle as an economical alternative to propylene glycol. Compared to propylene glycol, glycerol is sweeter and therefore more palatable making it more acceptable for the animals.
